A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Ben and Sarah’s wedding in Concordia, KS. The reception was in the tiny town of Munden. (which was large compared to Denmark where I live, LOL!).
Here is my favorite shot from the day. This is the church where Ben’s grandparents were married. It is now part of a museum.
Sarah was a beautiful bride!!

Here are a few of my favorite images from Jared and Veronica’s wedding this past weekend in Salina. I loved the outdoor formals! The field behind First Covenant Church made the perfect backdrop. The reception was held at the Rolling Hills Zoo and as always, the venue was amazing.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Jared and Veronica’s wedding in Salina. (Images to come) I went to the reception site at the Rolling Hills Zoo before I was due at the church with the intention of photographing the details and table decorations. I think it’s great to get those details captured before the guests arrive and before I have to worry about making sure I am there to capture all the events at the reception.
I have photographed several receptions at the Zoo and I think it is one of the nicer venues in the Salina area. I thought I knew what to expect…but when I opened the door I literally gasped. The gray walls with animal artwork had been transformed by long panels of black and white satin fabric draped from the ceiling. There were beautiful yellow paper lanterns hanging above the buffet tables. Then, once I entered the actual reception area, I gasped again. Each table had a beautiful centerpiece. The cake table was placed in the center of the room with more paper lanterns above and the head table had black fabric and beading hung to make the perfect backdrop.
All of this was courtesy of Laura at Every Little Detail. She was amazing to work with! As a photographer, I can’t stress enough how important the details are. For example, photographing a cake cutting and having a freezer in the background is not ideal. I remember this every time I look at my own wedding photos, LOL! Honestly, it was something I never even thought of. Which is why a professional like Laura is an awesome resource. She has the experience and can guide you through these things.
Laura was also working as the coordinator for the wedding. She did an amazing job, but it didn’t really hit me until I got home and started editing the images how awesome it really was. While going through the images from the day, there are so many images of the mom’s smiling and laughing! They didn’t have to worry about a thing-Laura took care of it all. I know most mom’s probably like to do it all on the wedding day, but if you could hand that task over to someone you really trusted it allows you to just enjoy the day! And of course, if Veronica needed anything Laura was right there. She kept us on schedule and all the details were just right.

Nicki and Tevin got married several months ago in a small ceremony in Tuscon, AZ and of course they needed a re-do for friends and family back here in Kansas. It was so much fun hanging out with them before the ceremony to do some couple portraits. 
This past Saturday was a beautiful (and HOT) Kansas day for Nathan and Jill’s wedding. I have to admit I was really looking forward to the wedding because I had photographed Jill’s sister’s wedding several months ago and I knew this was a fun bunch of people!
