Monthly Archives: November 2008

{December 2008}

As you may have read in the header portion of my blog (does anyone read that?), I will be closed the month of December.  If you already have a December session scheduled, don’t worry, you are safe!  All Christmas card and portrait orders that have been paid for have been placed and should be available for pick up late next week.

I am currently accepting appointments and scheduling wedding consultations for January, so please give me a call if you would like to set up an appointment.

I hope everyone has a very happy holiday season and a very Merry Christmas!

{Krista and Travis}

Kritsa and Travis were married last weekend in Belleville, KS.  It was a beautiful and warm November day!  When I first met Krista earlier this year, she was patiently waiting for Travis to return from his tour of duty in Iraq.  It was just so obvious how much Krista loved Travis and later when I finally got to meet Travis at their engagement session it was obvious the feeling was mutual.  Travis and Krista are a couple who are just so genuinely in love and are the best of friends.

 Krista made such a beautiful bride and had such gorgeous flowers!

Krista and Travis had a great wedding party!

Finally, the reception was held at a beautiful community center in Cuba, KS.  Krista had a sparkler entrance planned  and the stairway made the perfect backdrop for the shot.

Thanks for letting me be part of your special day.  It was really beautiful!

{Newborn Baby R}

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing newborn baby R who was an absolute doll!!!  I really loved this shot of her because after a week or so, babies lose their “curl”.  She kind of went into this position on her own and it made me wonder if maybe she spent a few months tucked this same exact way in the womb.

Baby R was such a good sleeper!

And finally, I loved this one because of her chubby cheeks….she is just oh so sweet!

{Newborn Baby C}

Early last week I had the pleasure of photographing 6 day old baby C.  He is absolutely beautiful and has such a laid back personality.   I really love photographing newborns early because they are so sleepy, squishy, not squirmy and oh so sweet!

I honestly don’t know what it is like to come home with a new baby.  I am sure having them photographed is the last thing on a new parents mind.  But I promise it doesn’t have to be a stressful experience.  First of all, I come to you (unless you live really far away).  There is plenty of time for feeding, burping and cuddling.  And for the most part you just get to sit there and relax (except for the feeding and burping part)!  Believe me, this is MUCH more relaxing than trying to photograph a one month old who has discovered how to flail his arms!

Another great reason to photograph your baby when it is only a few days old is because they change really fast and believe me, you will forget how sweet the umbilical cord and teeny tiny fingernails are.

Can you believe I actually had TWO newborns this week…check back in a couple of days!
