{Justin and Laura}

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Justin and Laura’s wedding in Ellsworth.  It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect!

Laura was such a beautiful bride!

And Justin was a handsome groom!

I thought they looked cute in this shot.

Laura had a very musically talented family.  I wanted to showcase them here because during the ceremony Leah sang a song called
So Glad We Could Meet”.  She was accompanied by her brother Levi on guitar.  The song was so beautiful and while she was singing, I was thinking I would love to find out where I can download the song because it would be awesome in wedding slideshows.  Well it turns out she wrote the song and it was amazing!!Song

After the ceremony, we headed to the golf course in Ellsworth to get some fun shots.  Justin proposed to Laura at this course so it was a special place for them.

I loved this shot of Laura!

{I Can Still See My Feet}

I am a little past the half way mark and I can still see my feet.  Hmmmmmm…….I wonder how long before they disappear?

{Film…what’s that?}

A couple of years ago, my dad gave me his old film camera.  There wasn’t a birthday party or soccer game that this camera didn’t attend so it brings back a lot of memories.  My dad, along with what seems to be the rest of America has moved on to digital photography and no longer has a need for this tired old thing.  When he gave it to me I had the full intention of learning how to use it, but the instant gratification of digital won me over and it has sat in a closet ever since.  That is until this past weekend when my nesting instincts were in full closet cleaning force!  I pulled this old camera out and loaded some film in it.  I had a great time shooting my cats, the chickens, the cows and whatever else happened in my yard that day.  I found myself out of habit looking at the back of the camera only to be disappointed by the lack of what was there.  No LCD screen!  Since I am not used to a manual focus lens or the way this camera meters it will be exciting to get the film developed to see if there are any treasures on there.  Or maybe it will all be trash…hard to say.

The whole experience really got me thinking about how we are so spoiled today.  We can have what we want whenever we want.  While I never  intend to use this camera at an actual session, it was fun to spend a few minutes remembering the days when things weren’t so instantaneous and the pace of life was a tad slower.

Without further ado….the old Canon AE-1.
